Atlas Macro

About Atlas Macro

Institutional thinking, plain English.

Atlas Macro is a founder-led education project. It shows how professional investors reason about markets, so that people who want to work in finance can learn to do the same.

Why it exists

The missing step

Textbooks teach the definitions. News tells you what happened. Neither shows you the step in between: how an experienced investor gets from a jobs report or a central bank decision to a view on what it means for prices.

That step is usually learned on the job, slowly, from whoever sits next to you. Atlas Macro tries to put it in writing, every day, for students, analysts and career changers who don't have that person yet.

Who is behind it

Nick Paulussen

Atlas Macro was founded by Nick Paulussen, who has spent 25 years across capital markets strategy, operations and advisory. He started Atlas to share the way of thinking he learned over that time, in language anyone can follow.

The daily briefing is written by AI. A data engine scores every major economic release for surprise, and an AI pipeline turns the day's news into an issue that explains what happened, why it moved markets and the history behind it. Every issue follows rules Nick designed: explain the mechanism behind a move, anchor it in a historical parallel and cite the data. It passes automated quality checks before it is published. Nick's own posts from LinkedIn also appear in the feed, marked “Founder's note”.
